I know exactly what you mean. I've had the all over pain and then the one spot on my upper leg pain. I have no idea what it is - or if it considered part of a flare.
I HATE to admit this but I've found that yoga really helped. I'm sorry to suggest it because I LOATHE it when people tell me to exercise. (I'm too tired to even feed the cat or do the dishes - why waste precious energy?)
A litte goes a LONG way, too. I don't use a video, anymore. I do a little in the morning in my PJ's while my son watches Elmo. Ten minutes, max. It really has kept THAT pain in bay.
