hey all- i know this question has been asked, but i am going to ask it again in hopes someone has a better answer now. i have diabetes, reynauds, thyroid disease, lupus, asthma, and lord knows what else... i plan on starting college in the fall, and i havent had any luck on scholarships dealing with any of my problems. does anyone know of any scholarship programs that can be of help to me?

I know that here in Florida we have a program called Abilities, They will pay for school and training to get disabled persons back into the work force. I was in their program and was taking computer classes. I did find out that they will pay for classes at colleges and techinical schools. But you must be being retrained in a field that you can do within you physical limitations. Have you checked with the school to see if their disability consulor has anythig to offer? Sometimes the schools will have a unpublished scolarship and all you have to do is fill out a questionare and then there is a chance you will be picked, I got my forms on line from my school.

Keep seaching, I hope you find one. If you find something good let me know.

What subject are you intrested in? I am going to my criminal Justice degree.

What college are you going to attend?

Well good luck
If my spelling is bad forgive me I just took a bit too much medication at one time.

The place you ned to go to is Florida State of Labor & Employment Security Department - Vocational Rehabilitation Division they have an office in arcidia I am not sure how far that is from you. They will only pay up to a set amount per credit hour. I am not sure what the credit hour goes for at St.Leo but at SPC is is 52.50 and hour.

Thats a nice school There is a dirtbike racing track not far from there that I used to race at (the fairgrounds) back when I was healthy.

You can search through superpages to find the vocational rehab. best to call as soon as you can they only have a certan amount of $ per year.
