It's always something new!

I was dx'd with SLE nine years ago, and am used to many abnormal lab results, but...

Just received my latest lab results, which showed something new:

Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) antibody levels at
910.0, with the normal range being <35!

My primary doc said nothing to worry about, but after a little researching and asking questions in the thyroid bulletin board, it seems as though I should have further tests done (T3 & T4). Someone suggested Hashimoto's disease.

Anyone experience this?

I guess you should ask your Dr. why he says this is nothing to worry about. Seems to me if normal is 35
your results are way off. My Mom recently had half her
thyroid removed. They said she had Hashimotos. Her
thyroid was so enlarged it was causing problems
swallowing. Hashimoto, Mom's Dr said is considered
an autoimmune disease.
Maybe you should see a Dr. who specializes in thryoid.

Lupus and thyroid disease, such as Hashimoto's, often go hand in hand.

I have read that Hashimoto's disease is the most common other autoimmune disease associated with lupus. With your antithyroid antibodies I would definitely have my thyroid level checked now. If normal have it checked annually. I have Hashimoto's too. Susan
