Zip2play is right. Almost 100% of lupus patients have had symptoms for years that were written off as over-work, flu, stress, and other temporary illnesses. It is only looking back that an astute doctor can see a pattern that adds up to, with corroborating lab work, lupus or a similar autoimmune disease.
I was deeply tired for 2 years before I suddenly had an unexplained rash, then joint swelling and pain that sent me to doctors.
I showed symptoms for 6 years at least before a correct diagnosis was made. Depression, RA, and the lovely "all in your head" diagnoses were made! It was rough and not one doctor took into consideration that my mother has RA and father has discoid lupus!! 2 genetic links there! LOL, I have had it with doctors, the only one I trust at all is my Rheumatologist. But good luck! And know this, there is NO ONE TEST for Lupus! My ANA goes from being high to nothing within a month!!! Lovely disease this Lupus!
No Heaven will heaven ever be, if my cats aren't there to welcome me.
My first symptoms were when I was Pregnant. I had a very red
face and my babies Dr. asked me if I had Lupus. I had never heard
of it and had no other symptoms and of course with a new baby
I soon had other things on my mind. It was about 10 years later that I had a lupus flair where Everything went haywire and I was
diagnosed that same week. I had a couple of years where I felt
terrible but now it's laying low again. KNOCK ON WOOD!
