Hi Denise
I was recently diagnosed with Lupus and currently taking plaquenil 200mg 2xday and I have gastrointestinal problems as well and my dr has scheduled a colonoscopy for the end of this month. I don't know if it is related to lupus but I sure have developed other medical issues since this all began last year. Good luck to you.
Thanks, good luck to you too. I have been hearing that sometimes
the inside of the colon becomes inflamed because of the lupus
and that causes the problems. Hope, it's something like that and
nothing more serious for us both.
Hi Denise,
I'm sorry that I can't answer your question as I'm newly diagnosed. I would like to ask you something though if I may. I was reading your response to a post and you said that you decided not to take any medicine, but to treat the lupus naturally. Would you share that with me? I really don't want to take any of those medicines with the scary side effects and I haven't learned how to treat it naturally. Any tips would be appreciated. Good luck!
Basically, I just try to help my body heal itself. Dr Weil has some good ideas about how to handle Lupus. Check out his books or web site. Also read everything you can find about Lupus and
alternative treatments in books stores. I cut my meat and dairy intake, took Vit. and sometimes herbs. Stayed out of the sun
used visualization and relaxation techniques. I found tapes in
the books store that really helped with this. All this can be done
with whatever your Dr. says to do ,it doesn't have to be one or the other. I was able to not take meds and now have very few symptoms 7 years after diagnosis. Also very important that I didn't mention ---REST. Luckily I was able to take 3months off
when it first hit. I think that really helped my body heal. I know most people can't do that. Stress is a real problem with Lupus
the more you can do to get rid of it the better. Good luck to you.
