Question Do I have Lupus or some other autoimmune disease?

I have been sick off and on with different problems since May of this year. Here is a break down of what has been going on:

May..started off with dizziness and nausea and I skipped my period. Tongue splotchy with white and red spots.

June.. started having itchy skin...it is more like an irritation or something. It started on my hands only and now it can occur anywhere on my arms and legs. Tongue still splotchy.

July..became very sick first week of July. Swollen node in neck (right side only). Still had itchy skin. Extreme fatigue for about a week. Feeling of passing out almost the whole week...but never passed out. No appetite. Muscle weakness. No fever though. Skipped period again. Tongue still splotchy. Low body temp and quite fatigued at times. Tingly feet and arms...like pins and needles.

August..still have swollen node in neck..goes up and down though throughout the day. Itchy skin (controlled some with Allegra). Tongue still splotchy but doctor gave me Myclecx Troche's..which have been helping. Still low body temp..ranges from 96.5-98.0...has gotten down to 95.9. Unexplained brusies on legs. Round patches of dry, scaly skin..about the size of a dime. Lump in throat ever so often but that could be related to post nasal drip.

I had my thyroid check again which came back to be within the normal limits. The doctor also did an ANA test which was "mildly positive". He is now testing for autoimmune diseases. I am waiting for the results of that. Does any of these symptoms sound like an autoimmune disease?? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!!

Just an update. I heard back from my doctor's office today and the tests they ran for autoimmune diseases came back normal. I wonder why my ANA test though would have been "mildly positive"?? Does anyone know anything about this???

I am still having weird symptoms that no one can seem to dx. Low body temp...95.5-97.5...never reaches 98.0, muscle aches and pains, dizziness at times, swollen node in neck, irregular periods and numbness/tingling in arms and legs at times and of course fatigue (the fatigue is mostly at night now) Itching however it is not severe...more like little hives that come and go throughout the day. Does anyone have any input on what may be causing these symptoms?????

Please help!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif

You don't say how old you are, but do you think some of the symptoms could be perimenopause-related? Esp. missed periods. It starts messing with us 10 years before it even kicks in, lucky us.

Do you have a lot of anxiety? Stress?

I am 27....I guess you could say I have some stress but then again who doesn't these days. I think what is causing me the most stress though is not knowing what is wrong with me. It is really getting to me because I have had a lot of lab work done over the past 3 months and nothing has come back abnormal other than one test showed that I had the Epstein Barr virus but that it was not active and that my ANA test was mildly positive...other than that they tell me everything looks normal. I just don't get it.

Don't get it either. Some of your symptoms seem autoimmune
others don't. Sounds like they are missing something. Sometimes
you have to change Dr.'s and start with a fresh one. Unfortunately,
with all the Dr's being so specialized it's hard to know what Dr. to go to when you don't know what the problem is. And if you choose the wrong specialist they might miss something if it's not
in their specialty. Check around to see if there is a good teaching hospital or University near you. Lots of times they love to get a
case like yours that is hard to diagnose and they will be more
open to possibilities and check for a lot of things. Hope this helps.
