Lupus Thyroid?? - Lupus Message Board

I have had thyroid problems for the past few years. This past summer it has gotten worse I was told i was showing all symptoms of Lupus, but my test was neg. Has anyone out there that has Lupus and tested positive had their thyroid just take a nose dive? My docs seem to be confused and so am I?

Did you just have ANA test or did you also have the TPO thyroid antibodies test? You might have Hashimoto's disease which is the body attacking the thyroid. Another idea that comes to mind ...do you eat a lot of soy? It will greatly affect your thyroid and even make you hypo.

Have you been tested for drug-induced Lupus? I have Graves (hyperthyroid) and my thyroid medication causes drug-induced Lupus.
