Question sleeping medications?

I have Lupus, CFS & Fibro & am needing to switch off of Flurazepam (Dalmane), as it has such a long half life & being over 60, although it helps, the potential side effects can put me at risk for coordination, etc.

Thanks for any feedback.................carole:confused :

Re: sleeping medications?

Hi Carole
I too am Carole - I have Lupus and Sjogrens, been on Plaquenil for a little over 4 years and Tramadol as needed. I also had sleeping problems, I just didn't sleep!!! My rheumatologist put me on Restoril 30Mg and it lets me go to sleep and get a full good nights sleep and I am not groggy in the mornings. It has been a God send to me, I was just lowered to 15mg and it seems to be doing the job. I tried getting off it, but I just don't sleep and my doc says I need the rest. I don't like depending on it, but like I said I just don't sleep, not even take a nap.

Thanks for that info. I, too, was on Restoril years ago but it ended up giving me nightmares, so that's when I was switched to Dalmane. It's worked well, but time to make another switch.

Guess that's the name of the game!!
