Kidd, hi. I actually avoid things touted as "boosting" the immune system. It's my understanding that in lupus, the immune system is both overactive & aberrant, in the sense of producing unwanted autoantibodies. Standard lupus therapies are designed not to boost but push the immune system the OTHER WAY, e.g., either flat-out suppress (steroids & chemo) or mere'y modulate (antimalarials).
But, honestly, I don't know whether I understand this concept correctly, so I'd love to know what you find out when you ask your rheumie. I never asked mine because I *thought* I knew what I was doing by avoiding such supplements... (There's a JOKE in that sentence somewhere!
