lymph nodes on mammogram

I am 63 and have systemic lupus. I was wondering if anyone else is told their lymph nodes under the armpit are enlarged when they get their yearly mammogram. My mammogram is always negative for any problems but the technician always comments on the size of my lymph nodes, I can feel that they are enlarged myself. My Dr. says as long as the mammogram is fine that there is nothing to worry about. But I worry. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: lymph nodes on mammogram

Hi...I am you age and haven't had that problem. I do, however, have lymphoma as a result of lupus meds. I think I would have them checked out as under the arms is a place my oncologist always feels.

Re: lymph nodes on mammogram

Hi, I have Lupus and if I were you, I would for sure get this situation checked further.
The tech. may be right as far as the mammo. goes regarding breast cancer, but if there is something else going on, you want to be checked. This happened to a friend of mine and she did end up having a health issue. Please go further with tests.
It could be nothing, but if it is something that needs treatment, or attention early intervention is key..
Let us know...
