Re: what type of lupos-like symtom do i have
Maryj, hi & welcome. Have you seen the "sticky posts" at the top of the thread list? They contain the established criteria for how systemic lupus is diagnosed, info on labs that are typically run, symptoms, etc.
Lupus can be difficult to dx. One reason is that symptoms overlap with & mimic those of other conditions. Another is that symptoms rise & fall with flares. Another is that in some people lupus can develop very slowly.
I'm only a patient, of course, but I *think* the symptoms you describe may or may not suggest lupus. (Not a real answer, huh?) Really, your best bet is to see a rheumatologist. And since you have rashes, the rheumie might suggest a capable dermatologist who could biopsy your rashes to see if they are lupus-specific, which would be very useful to know.
Out of curiosity, what do your rashes look like? I had tons of rash episodes & saw many dermies but didn't seem to choose them well, alas. I also had headaches, joint pain, tingling, GI & urinary problems, monstrous headaches, anemia, hair loss, weight loss, etc. FYI, I'm considered "subacute" because I don't have "major organ" involvement. And that's another possible diagnostic issue: I'd bet subacute is harder to Dx than acute... Anyway, I hope something above helps. Post more when you can, OK? Warm wishes, Vee
