lupus in my 11 yr old

my daughter was a highly conditioned competitive swimmer competing at the regional level. Then wham, she got sick in December and hasn't been the same. can't even swim. she has rashy red cheeks, telantictashias all over her hands and arms. extreme fatigue, livedo reticularis, joint swelling in knees, headache, and more. Her ANA has been tested 3 times with result of 30 or 1:640, IgE of 340, and others slightly off. because her antibodies, crp, esr, were normal the Dr. say's there's no way it's Lupus. I have read article after article that disputes that statement. We don't want her to have Lupus but we can't keep going on like this. we have pulled her from school due to poor attendance because of weakness and malaise.

Re: lupus in my 11 yr old

If possible, I would seek the advice of a Rheumatologist as they are the ones that usually diagnose and manage Lupus. I want to refer you to the sticky posts at the the top of the Lupus board as you will find much info on the subject. I think that you will find that not every patient will have positive results from all lab work routinely done for diagnosis but rather a combo of some of the diagnostic criteria. I do hope you find some answers and can get a treatment plan in place for your child.
