I have lupus sle and I'm looking for recommendations on over the counter skin cleansers and moisturizer that work well for people with lupus. I do not have skin problems because I clean and moisturize my face daily but I've noticed that my skin is not tolerating my normal skin care cleanser and moisturizer. My face is starting to be very dry and I now notice some dry spots. All suggestions are welcomed.
I'm not officially diagnosed with Lupus yet, results are pending as my ANA titer is high.
I do have very sensitive skin though and repeatedly, I've been recommended to use Cetaphil. I've used it now for 24 years. I notice a difference when I try other products. It is so gentle that you don't even have to use water with it, although I do.

I have Lupus and Sjogrens Syndrome, the Sjogrens make my skin excessively dry. I love Oil of Olay for sensitive skin. It doesn't seem to matter what I use for body soap or moisturizer when I get out of the shower I itch, itch, itch for at least 15 minutes. But I really like the Oil of Olay for my face!
Hi, all. I battle dry skin, too. Some things I've tried:
Room humidifiers. Both heat and A/C remove moisture from air.
Alcohol-free skin toner.
No perfumed skin products (makeup, soap, etc.); perfume contains alcohol.
Sunblock with moisturizer UNDER foundation with moisturizer.
"Heavier" facial & body cream during winter heating season.
i make my own lotion with organic ingredients except for the preservative. i always was a skincare junkie and couldn't wait too try the latest products. i can't do that anymore. i use the lotion all over, even for lip balm and as a cold cream sort of cleanser when my skin just is irritated and hurting. i put it on extra, extra thick and massage in, wear like a mask for a bit, and then tissue off. i like to use a little bit of vaseline over the lotion to help the moisture barrier when i'm going to be out in the wind or something.
another thing that has really helped my face has been using mineral makeup that i make myself. i started out using bare escentuals, but had a problem with the bismuth oxychloride. i didn't like how shiny it made my skin and it itched like crazy. i put extra zinc oxide in mine to make it really soothing.
