Flare after dentist appt

I had two fillings replaced (drilled and re-filled) yesterday and last night my joints started to hurt more in my hands and feet (where it usually hurts) and my headache got stronger. Today I have been very tired and the pains have continued. Since I am still learning I would like to know if a dental procedure could cause a flare of lupus? I also have TMJD and holding my mouth open that long does cause pain for hours after along with a sore muscle by that joint. A rash appeared on both legs this morning (raised red bumps but no pain or itching) that seems to come and go. I would appreciate any ideas or advice.

Re: Flare after dentist appt

Brooklyngirl, I get nasty headache during/after long dental procedures, so I take extra Advil pre-emptively, before I go. I don't view my problem as a flare, though, because it's mainly a headache.

But SPRING? That's another matter for me. A day before damp weather hits, I have extra pain in joints & along the long bones of arms/legs, no matter the season, but this seems worse in spring & summer. (I now love only fall.)

But rather than assume anything, you could ask both your dentist & your rheumatologist if there's anything you can learn & do. Good luck! Best wishes, Vee

Re: Flare after dentist appt

I am always a bit worse after a dentist visit. I know I am sun sensitive but fluorescents and such seem to give me a flare too so my theory is the light causes my flare.
