Alternatives to Plaquenil

I'm not yet diagnosed but my rheumatologist has said probable SLE and probable Sjogren's. A few weeks ago I was out in the sun for 10 minutes and developed a rash all over my feet and legs and flared up the next day. On Saturday I was out in the sun for about 5 minutes and then threw up, had a severe migraine and dizzy and weak. Yesterday I felt really tired and my joints were sore and swollen.

I spoke to my GP and she rung my rheumatologist. She said it's most likely from the Plaquenil and to stay out of the sun and they'd reassess my medications at my next appointment (mid December). The message said if get the rash again then I have to stop the Plaquenil.

Are there any other alternatives? I know there's Methotrexate, but my liver function test was high so that's probably not an option. I'm worried they'll take me off Plaquenil and leave me with nothing. Anyone got any suggestions for sun sensitivity and Plaquenil?

I don't live in the USA and to get medication like Cellcept and Benylsta or the biologic drugs you have to get special authority and I'm don't qualify!

Thanks.
