medrol dosepak experiment ... what does it mean

As part of the diagnostic process with my new rheumy,. I was asked to take a medrol dosepak. Each morning I took the entire dose for that day starting with 6 pills and ending with one.

What a miracle drug! Most of my symptoms vanished! Energetic, clear minded, and no muscle and joint pain... it was wonderful. Now, two days after the dosepak ended I am starting to have symptoms again. how cruel this test is. Feeling like my old self for a few day and then experiencing the onset of all these symptoms again. Ugh!

My question... what was the point? Does anyone kno wwhat my dr was looking for specifically>

Inflammation.

If medrol clears up your symptoms, they are caused by some sort of inflammatory disease such as lupus or RA, and they are probably NOT fibromyalgia, lyme disease, etc.

Now, he can try to control your inflammation with a drug less dangerous than prednisone.
