| Re: Positive ANA waiting on more results
Kehop, I hope you don't have lupus. Good news is that (1) ANA is non-specific & can elevate simply due to a passing virus or infection, or due to a family tendency, etc. And (2), in the world of autoimmunes, I believe 1:320 is a pretty low ANA. And (3), if you were fighting an infection, etc., perhaps that's why your WBC is a little low?---You could ask your specialist. And (4), for a Dx of systemic lupus, you'd need to fulfill considerably more than that. See the sticky posts (permanent info posts) at the top of the thread list, for diagnostic criteria, plus a set of "alternative criteria".
I'm just a patient, but I think reading the stickies is the best place to start, and hopefully you won't see yourself in them. But if you do, please know that today lupus can be controlled pretty well in many people. Hang in there! I hope you drop another line after reading. Sending best wishes, Vee
