Positive ANA waiting on more results

I recently went for my annual & told my doctor I had been feeling off. Run down, anxious, and having some neck and body aches... I was worried about my thyroid. My blood work came back with a positive ANA 320. My TSH was 4.4 and he said it wasn't my thyroid. I was then sent to a Rheumatologist yesterday and had more labs and an exam. He looked me over and thinks I look good. But he wanted to run more labs because I did have the positive ANA and a slightly low white blood count. I am a nervous wreck! My anxiety level is so high waiting to get a call that could forever change my life!
My only symptom at this moment is a ache in my lower back on the right side, but I think it's a paloma. I do not have joint pain, I even ran 3 miles on Friday and felt fine.
Do you think I have Lupus??

I meant to type "lipoma" not paloma.

Re: Positive ANA waiting on more results

Kehop, I hope you don't have lupus. Good news is that (1) ANA is non-specific & can elevate simply due to a passing virus or infection, or due to a family tendency, etc. And (2), in the world of autoimmunes, I believe 1:320 is a pretty low ANA. And (3), if you were fighting an infection, etc., perhaps that's why your WBC is a little low?---You could ask your specialist. And (4), for a Dx of systemic lupus, you'd need to fulfill considerably more than that. See the sticky posts (permanent info posts) at the top of the thread list, for diagnostic criteria, plus a set of "alternative criteria".

I'm just a patient, but I think reading the stickies is the best place to start, and hopefully you won't see yourself in them. But if you do, please know that today lupus can be controlled pretty well in many people. Hang in there! I hope you drop another line after reading. Sending best wishes, Vee
