Re: Plaquenil

I am glad to hear that your labs are coming back normal.

Without knowing more about the history of your specific condition, it is difficult to guess. The most direct way to get an answer to your question is to ask your doctor. I would imagine that your doctor is using Plaquenil as maintenance therapy to keep your condition from flaring. It is rare for autoimmune disorders such as lupus to go into complete remission without any need for continued treatment.

Re: Plaquenil

I am very surprised to hear this because Plaquenil is prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. A negative ANA almost always indicates there is no autoimmune disease present. I would highly encourage you to speak with your physician and find out why he has you on this medication based on your test results.
