Lyme Disease??

Been having a lot of weird symptoms over the last few months- has gotten really bad in last month.. got tested for Lyme and it was negative but I'm not convinced.. my symptoms are:

Crawling skin
Tingling/buzzing sensation throughout body
Numbness- in random places/face
Tremor
Twitching muscles- all over
Dizziness
Headaches
Muscles pain- all over
Popping and cracking joints- all over, especially in shoulders
Seeing white spots
Sores on scalp
Insomnia
Chest pain
Hemmoroids
Undigested food in stool
Low body temperature
Cold weather sensitivity
Hives

Probably missing a few.. but if anyone has any ideas of what it could be or if I should get extensively checked for Lyme, as the Western Blot may not be accurate let me know (: I'm a 20 year old female btw- only prior health problem was a fungal infection and b12 deifnecy!

Re: Lyme Disease??

Hi Canadiangirl100, your symptoms sound suspicious for Lyme. I would definitely search out a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor. They are specialist in this disease. Western Med doctors don't treat with the right protocols.

Testing for Lyme and co infections are not accurate. There are too many strains and the bacteria can hide outside of the blood stream (one reason). So the reason it is highly recommended to get to a LLMD. They will go on clinical symptoms and not solely on a blood test.

There are many co infections that we get along with Borrelia (lyme).

From where you are sitting you might be able to find a Lyme group and ask whom others go to in Canada.

Take care!

Jojo

Re: Lyme Disease??

It might be worth looking into more if you know you have been bit by a tick at any time in the past. But also maybe google diseases that have the same symptoms as lime and see what that comes up with.

Re: Lyme Disease??

Many people don't know when they have been bitten. If it is by a tick, it has a numbing agent that it applies as it bites. Ticks aren't the only way of contracting Borrelia (Lyme) or co-infections.

Some of the ways of contracting is, any insect that bites, draws blood and goes host to host. This includes, other spiders, Ants, mosquitos, bed bugs, fleas, mites ect ect.....

These infections can be passed during a blood transfusion, Parents to baby, Sex.
There are many ways on contracting these horrid infections.

It is a must to see a Doctor that specializes in them.

Jojo

Re: Lyme Disease??

The Western Blot test is only accurate for a short window (usually 3 or 4 weeks after the infection for a matter of weeks). I would highly recommend getting a Lyme Panel as well as a co-infection Panel from Igenex. I tested negative on the Western Blot as I had had the infection for 2 years prior. The Igenex test was able to pick up that I had Lyme as well as Babesia. It is expensive, but well worth having done to rule Lyme and other co-infections out given your symptoms. Your doctor can order a test kit from Igenex and then send them your blood sample back by mail. I believe that some other people from Canada have used their test services. Good luck, I hope you find the cause of your symptoms soon.

Re: Lyme Disease??

I know you posted a few months ago, but did you ever figure out what was wrong> Your symptoms are almost identical to mine and I have lyme disease.
