I have finally found an LLMD in NJ that has helped me. He saw the bullseye on my face and told me it is definitely Lyme Disease. He said there isn't anything else that creates that "expanding circular bullseye". I started on 100mg of doxy twice a day for the next 6 weeks. The doc is concerned about the numbness in my hands and the severity of the EMG that occurred within a 2 week period. I also have some signiificant changes on my EKG that could be lyme related. Anyway, it nice to finally think you are not crazy! He also said the other doc was way off base in diagnosing ringworm and refusing to give me the antibiotics. I had alot of blood work done for a second time..........waiting for the results. Thanks to all you lymies out there, I did not give up my search to find the right MD.
Pitnum, it is great that you are getting treated! Will the doctor be increasing your dose of Doxy? It is my understanding that the recommended dose for Lyme is 300-600 mg daily. I recommend researching this and speaking to your doctor.
Ticker,
Once again, thanks for your input! I will check with the doctor this week regarding the dose of Doxy. He didn't mention increasing it, but said we will take it one week at a time so he can monitor what's going on. I'll keep you posted.
