Re: Bone loss???

I was not told to watch that in my son, and he is 8 so hopefully they would have. I am interested to hear if this is a symptom of Lyme as well. I di hear that certain antibiotics can cause bone damage tho, so it needs to be closely monitored. I think it was just the tetracylene family with the bone damage tho. See ya

Re: Bone loss???

Sorry - getting the info via phone from my mom. Its really severe Osteopenie. Which is a milder bone loss that doesn't yet meet Osteoporosis. They say that is approaching Osteoporosis? I am a bit confused at this point. She is 67 but 4 1/2 years ago bone density was slighter under for her age. But 2 1/2 years ago she had gained density. Now she is losing. Not sure if it was from any meds. Just wondering if anyone with Lyme has experienced anything like this. I am still searching for solutions to her illness. I don't mean to confuse anyone.

Re: Bone loss???

Hi moecasey,
I have read that lyme can cause osteoporosis.

Lyme does deplete magnesium as well as other vitamins... which causes bone loss just like other diseases can.

Re: Bone loss???

Hey Moe,
There is more info out there but those are the sites that I am permitted to post since they end in .gov. Did your mom call the LLMD yet?

Re: Bone loss???

Komondor - I called the LLMD but he is away until Wed. I will call again then. Lyme sure is a very scarey thing. I go to my sons ball games now and I always have the fear in the back of my mind that there are ticks nearby. I fear ticks more than I do terrorists. Again thanks for the info. Its like a puzzle with missing pieces and any bit of info turns into those pieces.

Re: Bone loss???

Hey Moe,
I am more than happy to help and I hope you get some answers very soon.

Yes, lyme as well as all tick borne diseases are scary but knowing how to protect youself is important.

Always, keep the little blood suckers and have them properly tested. We also treat our lawn now which I hate but had not choice.

You can also use repellant but I choose not to because I do not want that crap on my skin. However, there are times when I am sure it is necessary.

There are some natural remedies too. My doctors says 1oz of vodka mixed with 20 drops of aromatic peppermint oil works very well. Mix and spray on.

I know the puzzle very well as so much fell into place once I started researching/diagnosed.

Re: Bone loss???

there is a DR named Dr Trevor Marshall who believes that abnormal vitamin D metabloism is invovled in all autoimmune diseases, and that they are triggered by chronic bacterial infections.

"chronic lyme" is one of these conditions. also CFS, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis....it is a long list.

if you are experiencing Bone Loss, i would definitely look into this.

it is called the Marshall Protocol.

thanks
bill
