Any body else here tested for metal toxins?

Or heavy metals (I forget the correct name of it!)???

I just did my igenex blood work and the metal test on Tuesday..... hopefully I will have results soon!

Re: Any body else here tested for metal toxins?

I was but not through IgeneX - there were some not nice things to see like over 50% level of mercury, there was fairly high uranium (not the kind of nuclear power plants-said it could have come from shampoos), and I forget the others. Mine was not a blood test but one of those hair tests which I hear is not that accurate. Made me very unhappy about the five amalgams fillings from my childhood that my dentist replaced with more amalgams after I told her I had reservations about it. She convinced me that it was safe - I wished I could turn back time there.

Re: Any body else here tested for metal toxins?

Hi fotomom and ncgirl--
I have had my heavy metals tested by hair analysis. The way I understood it, hair analysis is the most accurate. I have a lead reading one and a half times the "acceptable" level. I would like to have chelation therapy to get rid of my metal toxins, but it's costly and I just feel like I'm already going through a lot right now. Do you think my lyme treatments will work better if I "get the lead out"?

I know what you mean about the fillings. You never know what can affect you. I had my amalgams taken out two years ago. I don't know if it did any good.

Re: Any body else here tested for metal toxins?

I had a urine test that I sent to (Doctors Data) thru Dr. Horowitz,, mine showed very high levels of lead and some elevated levels of mercury. It was a 6 hour urine, I had to take 6 tabs of DMSA and drink alot of water to flush things out. We are waiting for my husbands to come back, he also did the same test. We have our next doc's appt. Jan.5th to find out what to do about it. will let you know what he said... Kim
