Remember Symptoms

Lately I'v been putting more things together from when I was a child. I remember playing out in the yard and my leg would suddenly give way, I'd fall or sometimes I'd stop myself. I also remember, out of the blue on occasion I'd lose my voice. On top of that ever since I got bit I'v had trouble with my hands specially in winter, theyget super red, cracked, itchy and painful. Been doing that every winter and sometimes in the summer as well. Anybody else experience any of this? Also I have these wierd white sponts on all my fingernails, every one of them. Is that related to the LD? TIA!

Re: Remember Symptoms

Hey Dancer - I have to log out because we are watching a movie and my husband is reminding me I have been on this computer too long I was saving more lives on the Brain Disorders board - have a feeling we will have a few more lyme board viewers soon Anyway I have been going through this too in the last few days...I spent days on end in the woods rolling in leaves with my dogs...that was my childhood in Maryland...my parents rarely checked me for ticks...I only remember one attachment when I was 12 or so.

I have been remembering a visit to a cardiologist when I was about 15 I think and then water on the knee when I was running track or playing soccer. Yesterday my right knee went out - it hurts so much when it does this - it is like I hyperextend it - I was sitting cross legged on the couch and I wnet to get up and it pops really loud and I have to click it back in place and it hurts like heck...well my left leg used to do this - well my Dad's did the same - as well I inherited my migraines from him - which have been present in 7 generations on his side - is this hereditary independent of lyme or did lyme get passed down? Makes me wonder....very interesting to contemplate but sometimes it makes me crazy so I have to stop my obsessing about it

Ok - have to watch the movie... I hope you are having a good night! Just a week to go!!!!

Re: Remember Symptoms

yes, I know what you mean. I think about my childhood and my symptoms and I am absolutely convinced 100 percent that I have had lyme since 1977. I had so many symptoms and I remember the rash, but no one knew what it was. My mom put nail polish remover on it to try to get rid of it. I had a very, very bad sore throat at the same time and she took me to the doctor for a strep culture but they said I did not have strep. I couldn't talk at all.

My hands were a mess all the time. Very red and sore and chapped. I believe it's because the parasite strips you of your vitamins and it depletes your natural resources in your body. I thought I had the ugliest hands in the world all this time but now that I am on treatment I think my hands look so good. I was holding them out the other day and just staring at them thinking, "wow, they look young again."

Re: Remember Symptoms

Hey DancerGirl - I did not mean to imply in any way that you are obsessing about this - I read my post and thought it could be misconstrued...but I am obsessing about it at times. I was explaining this to my dog's vet today because I had to take her in for PCR testing for coinfections and I said to him that I think I have had multiple exposures even though this may sound far fetched...he said it is very possible but that I will probably never know...I said I know that I won't but it is so hard to deal with something like this that alters your life in so many ways and yet not know when it started...there is something about tracing it back to the moment that I feel would give me some kind of comfort...weird but true...so that is why I am always thinking about it. I start going in circles in my thinking though and I am trying to guard against that...Take care and hope you are having a good Thursday night. I can't wait for you to see Dr. J's and get some answers and treatment. I will feel so much better

Re: Remember Symptoms

Haha it's ok it didn't even register to me that you thought I was obsessing lol, Im oblivious here lol. I just thought it was funny remembering new old symptoms lol. And my thursday is going pretty well, I actually lifted weights today and then tonight a friend of my bro's who's in the navy came to visit so I watched them shoot off fireworks, all I have to say is 21 year old guys shouldn't be allowed to play with fireworks Hope your movie with hubby was good

And sleeperwoken, my hands still look like that! Im embaressed in public! Always trying to hide them, It's a good thing I haven't dated anybody in a long time, I could never hold anybodys hands lol!!! Have you found anything that helps? I'v tried tons of lotions and creams and stuff from the dermatologist but nothing works so far.
