yesterday I went to columbia hosp. for my spect scan. I won't know the results until mon. I almost cancelled because it is a 4 hour ride. My husband convinced me into going. I was pretty ill . At 3 oclock I seem to snap out of it pretty much no symptoms brain back to normal even. Now this am back to sick. It gave me a little hope that things can go back to normal. Is this a sign that I am on the right meds . I did not want to go to sleep last night I wanted it to last.

Hi telvock43. I am glad you were able to keep your appointment.

Lyme is notorious for the symptoms intensifiying and easing off like you describe. It is very hard to deal with. A lot of times when people are feeling better, they do too much because they are able to do things. Sometimes this makes them feel worse later. Over time, you will be able to know what your boundries are so you can enjoy the better days without doing too much.

Hang in there, you will get better!

re: your SPECT scan - I hope it turns out good for you, whatever that is...I say that because I had one and they told me that together with my memory problems and an abnormal SPECT (frontal, parietal, temporal, (and one other region of the brain that I forget today) etc. I had Alzheimer's.

So naturally, I started on second and third opinions as in the 4 years since then, I have not gotten worse as typically expected. Bottom line: take a deep breath and try to relax when you get the result and then come here and tell us what it is!
