Question questions about rebounding

Hi everyone....I have been reading on here and on the web about the benefits of rebounding. I didn't have a clue what it was until I saw it in a post earlier this week! I am pretty weak most days, and cannot tolerate even walking in my apt so I think rebounding would be a great way to maybe detoxify and keep some sort of strength in my body even by just gentle "health bounces" as they call it.

So I have a question...some web pages say you need a special rebound trampoline for it to be beneficial and help detoxify your body...is this true? Or does any trampoline work? I don't have a lot of room in my apartment so I am trying to see if I can find a folding one.

So my question is to those who do rebound...do you have a special type or does any mini trampoline work just as well? Does rebounding seem to help you out greatly without a ton of energy being used? Just looking for some info. Thanks alot everyone.

Re: questions about rebounding

Dear Romans,

Gottagetbetter does this I think. But then again she is teaching yoga too. My daughter had one of the mini trampolines when she was in cheerleading and we drug it in from the garage. I have yet to jump on it though because of my weak legs and equilibrium. I really need to though. I'm hoping that I can kind of bounce in the pool from the buoyancy of the water. Just waiting for my husband to have days off from work. I don't dare get in the pool by myself. Do you live in an apartment that has a pool? All we can do is try.
If you look for the mini trampoline I think we got ours at Target or a sporting goods store. Be careful.

Re: questions about rebounding

Romans12:12 ,

With your response from the skin brushing I would hold off on the rebounding. At least until you are able to handle the baths without the skin brushing.

For us money has been tight so I just got one from Wal-Mart. It was about $20. You can by some that have a smoother impact. I know some people that have spent several hundred dollars on theirs. It's up to you.

Rebounding is not actually a jump. YOur feet aren't supposed to leave the trampoline. Just a light bounce. This is going to work a lot like the skin brushing~activating the lymphatic system.

I have found yoga to be very healing. As BDFM stated I am teaching. I was approached because of how much of a change the other instructors were seeing in me. I could hardly drag myself out of bed when I started. When I am teaching I really try to incorporate the breathing in for my students. I did not breath well before I started yoga. I would suggest a restorative class or a beginner yoga class.

I keep trying to get in the pool. The club that I teach at has aqua classes but each time I get in the chlorine makes my legs hurt and feel heavy. Maybe you will have better luck. I am trying to convince my folks to convert their pool to a sea salt pool(no luck yet).

Re: questions about rebounding

Well, with as much zeal as I had a couple days ago for trying to get started with pilates or maybe rebounding...it's all on the back burner. I will save your posts for when I am stronger and try again to see if I can start detoxing my body. But for now I need to prepare for switching meds and just tring to get some regular meds going and stay going. Thanks for the advice and hopefully since I'll be off the Doxy now I can FINALLY go outside and enjoy the pool if I'm feeling up to it. I guess that's one up side of sweitching meds!

Re: questions about rebounding

Romans12:12,

If you suffer from the chronic pain associated with lyme then I would NOT suggest Pilates. I would suggest YOGA. I teach both and Yoga is all about the breath..strengthing and lengthing. Pilates is different and very fatiquing.
