Has anyone had any experience with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy? Just curious...it sounds intriguing, sort of like finding another way to kill those blasted Keets.

Re: Hbo

Dear TeeDee,

I have heard of this and heard it works very well. The only problem is that I also heard it is about $200 a pop and you would need about 50 treatments. I don't know if this is true just something I heard.

The other morning I got on the boards very early and there was a message from jackjaw telling us about it but he/she also encouraged us to take on the responsibility of each of us looking up and researching a list of doctors,
treatments, and websites that he/she provided. It isn't on here anymore and he/she probably was banned for posting all the websites.

It was an interesting take because he/she said if we each took on just one thing and really researched it and then pooled the info we would not get so confused with brain overload. But we would be able to put together a pretty comprehensive picture of what seems to be working consistently. It was a great idea but I guess you just can't share all the info that was given.
The thread disappeared into neverland.

I think every one of us would scrape the bottom of the barrel if we thought this (hyperbaric chamber) would absolutely work. I know a lot of us have spent that much and more. Makes me sick to think about it. If you find out more let us know. If I won the lottery I would send each and every llmd that has been listed here one of them.

Re: Hbo

TeeDee:

I've spent a few hours these days looking up hyperbaric chamber treatments - The information is easy to find.

There's one that deals with treatment for Lyme - with a caveat.

90 of the 91 individuals suffered "severe" Herx which lasted a month or more and then were improved for up to 8 months later.

Those with Babesia, Ehrlichiosis, etc. (uh oh, brain drain settling in )
were either not improved.....oh shucks....sorry.....too much researching, LOL

It's really easy to look up, though. Only have to go through 4 or 5 pages of different subtopics to find the Lyme one....

I haven't heard of anyone who's gone through this treatment, and there does seem to be considerable difference in the amount of time spent in the chamber (5 to 40 treatments) basically.....I gathered that newly (acute) infected patients did best.....

My printer needs new ink, so I didn't print it out.....I would've still recommended you check it out yourself....GOOD LUCK!
