Anyone have pain in their Ears? - Lyme Disease Message Board

Hi all,

For months I have been experiencing terrible pain in my ear lobes. It seems like those nasty spirochetes like to pick parts of my body to move around in, first it was my legs and knees, now it's my ears.

The worst part is when I lay down on my side, I have to keep switching from side to side as the pain in one ear gets so bad than I can't lay on it.

Has anyone else experienced this pain in the ears?

Hey Denise,

From just about day one I have had this. It is at the top of my ear (left) on the outside. It was so bad I couldn't sleep on that side at all. When they did my first couple of MRIs I couldn't wear the headphones because I couldn't stand for anything to touch my ear. It has pretty much gone away but does come back occasionally. I wonder if it is the spirochettes. That would explain the coming and going. Hope it gets better.

Hi BDFM,

Sorry you have experienced this also. My pain is constant, I believe that the spirochetes have done permanent damage to the cartilage in my ears. I can't even keep a telephone close to my ears as that causes more pain.

I know spirochetes attack different parts of the body and it likes to move around. I know those nasty creatures attacked my legs and knees, and after taking the Silver, that got better, so now they are attacking my Ear Cartilage. I am continuing with the Silver as it helped my legs, hopefully it will help my ears too.

Glad to know that I am not alone with this one as it is really strange.

Sorry to hear that your ears are hurting. I can't get mine to pop. Drives me crazy but at least they don't hurt.

In a way it may be good that those darned bugs are on the move - perhaps they'll give up and die!!

Hi Mickie,

I used to have that problem with getting my ears to pop, I used to hold my nostrils really hard and blow until they would pop. This used to happen to me when I was flying.

After doing some research, I read that about 11% of Chronic Lyme Sufferers do get permanent damage in the cartilage of their ears. It stated that antibiotics don't help because the blood vessel to get to the cartilage is too tiny. So my ears are damaged and inflammed.

I wonder if I could give my ears those mustard baths, what would I have to lose? Better buy ear plugs first!
