ive had lip numbness for a while now. i had sort of low b12 levels which was blamed for it. b12 seemed to help it some but then i was given a few weeks of antibiotics it got much better then about 8-10 days after i finished them i could feel them getting numb and it seems to spread slightly outward in all directions from my lips. now im back on antibiotics and they seem to be improving again. ive had the blood lyme exposure test and it was negative. any ideas?

Hi bigmike4, welcome to the board!

Do you have other symptoms? No Lyme test is completely reliable. From what I understand, the ELISA or titer is the least realiable and the one most doctors run first. Is this the one you had done? I suggest that you get a copy of the test. It sounds like you are responding to antibiotics, so it seems there must be some kind of infection.

When Lyme disease is a possibility, it is very important to see a knowledgeable doctor. Many doctors do not understand Lyme and treat with outdated protocols. Ticks can also transmit several co-infections. It is important to be tested for these by a Lyme reputable lab such as IgeneX in Palo Alto, CA.

If you list where you are located, I will give you the name of the closest knowledgeable doctor to you that I know of.

i had the basic blood test done. i have what appears to be a chronic upper resipratory/sinus type infection that just wont go away. occasional 99.6 temps. muscle weakness,fatigue, occasional periods of brain fog usually daily. just a feeling of being ill. been to all sorts of doctors and no findings so far. im near norfolk va
