Hey denise, gottagetbetter, & chocolatesprinkles,
Thanks for remembering the appointment and well wishes. I have everything pretty well in order and 3 pages of questions. I even mailed a detailed "journey" to him a couple of days ago so he can review what has happened to me over the last 5 years. If he reads it before the appointment that'll be great but at least he'll have it when I get there. It has been a rough couple of days here with not a lot of sleep. I will be looking forward to getting home and crashing.
Rhonda went in the hospital Thursday night to be induced. I was induced with 3 of my kids and had them pretty quickly but things have changed. They inserted some kind of string in her to thin out the cervix and then would start to induce. She checked in at 9:00PM Thursday and at 3:00PM Friday they started to induce her. A while later the baby's heartbeat went crazy so they stopped. They put Rhonda on oxygen for the baby and said they would start again in a few hours.
To be honest with you I really didn't think I would see the baby until we got back from Missouri because there is no way I could maneuver the hospital corridors and I just have this "mental thing" about a wheelchair. I have spent the last 5 years avoiding this and felt like I was losing to the lyme if I used one. Of course Rhonda informed me this was the "only 1st grandchild" I would ever have and made me feel like a creep. No sleep that night for me.
Yesterday I decided we would go to the hospital and we would just get a wheelchair there. Jennifer called at about 6:30PM and told us about all the problems so we went to the hospital right away. We stayed until 10:30PM and they said it wouldn't come until daylight anyway. They considered a C-section. No sleep again. We went home because Ronnie needed some sleep because he works today.
Jennifer called this morning at 6:49 AM and said the baby was born normally at 6:25AM and is just beautiful. Mother and baby are fine. Ronnie has to work at 3:00PM so we will go down at `11:00 or so this morning to visit. Jennifer was a real trooper too. She took Rhonda in on Thursday night and stayed a few hours and was back by 8:00AM yesterday and stayed until the baby was born this morning. She was supposed to be in the Susan Komen Walk for the Cure at 7:45AM this morning but I hope she went home to bed instead. She is going to a concert tonight and needs some sleep. She said she would be back when we get there this morning.
Anyway I don't have all the specifics other than she is beautiful and her name is AVA. I'll fill you in later.
I am okay mentally even after the wheelchair business and just need some sleep. I will probably try to get a nap in when Ronnie goes to work. Dr. Crist is really going to see some super sized under the eyes bags.
Thanks again for the well wishes. I'll post when we return.
Maureen
