Nausea/Bartonella any connection/drug holiday

I have nausea 7 days a week. I did have alot of nausea before I started treatment, but it has gotten so much worse. Tried phengran and zofran and neither take it away. Just ease it a little. I know that Bartonella causes alot of digestive problems but just wasn't sure about nausea. Does anyone else have this problem. I have had one 3 wk round of Mepron for Babesia but I'm not sure this is Babesia. Is it Lyme?

I expected my 2 wk drug holiday to be great. LOL Well, I hoped. I might have pushed it a little to much but I expected to feel better than this.... Maybe it went from week old roadkill to couple days old roadkill. I feel like the dead skunks up the road. Lyme stinks...

Prayers....Marsha

Re: Nausea/Bartonella any connection/drug holiday

HI PS
I have no test positives but im positive my self i have bartonella..
I did not know that the digestive track was an issue??

any thing yiu have i would be interested in.

Sickness wise.
i ahve spent days on end laid still on my settee cause any movement has made me feel so sick, but i never actually was for me it was very much a head nausea, like a fair ground sick or a car sickness.
The only thing i ever found that helped was to lay still.

hope this helps
Jules xx

Re: Nausea/Bartonella any connection/drug holiday

Are you taking your probiotics & drinking LOTS of water??? Hehehehe I always ask the basics basics basics....sometimes I lost track of them with all the new meds, docs, & everything else to keep adjusting to. I had the same meds you did and didn't make a connection other than having a full stomach more often than I was used to...

Also, bland diet with oatmeal, rice (basmati brown at least made me feel I was having something a little more luxurious...) and sometimes one of the crackers or breads with a little water late at night (tho I hated to have to get up for bathroom visit, it was whichever seemed most important)

Always keeping something in my stomach seemed to help after a while and I'm the world's biggest baby when it comes to nausea, believe me! I had 19 and 17 hours of labor and delivery with my 2 girls and no medication and I didn't feel I was suffering (though the pains were constant and high level - goes without saying) but in the beginning, the nausea and vomiting made me lose 17 lbs. in 10 days so I had to go to the hospital.

When I got out, my Italian landlady helped me more than "modern" medicine with steady little glasses of wine too (after my 3rd month) ....ROFL But, it really did help. and I don't drink, even now.

I'd just offer trying everything, see what helps or hurts little by little. before I'd resort to medication, unless Flagyl or pepcid, peppermint tabs can do the job. You've got my sympathy! Hard as it is, give each a few days for a true test...

Re: Nausea/Bartonella any connection/drug holiday

Jules
I wake with nausea. I can drink a glass of water and it gets worse. Feel like you are going to throw up but never do. Anything I eat does it. I do know from what I have read gi problems (gas/bloating/reflux/etc) all go with Bartonella. I was doing a little research on net last night. Later stage lyme can have nausea and gi problems too.

Gerribear
I have compared this to nausea during pregancy. Bad Bad Bad... And that is not the problem. LOL I do load up on probotics and drink water. Even when I gag. Tried bland, didn't work. Will try peppermint.
