I think we had a thread about this on the migraine board. That is called cutaneous allodynia. I do have an area in the back of my head that feels like it is bruised, behind my right ear. This was one of the first symptoms that I had back in May around the same time that I started to feel like my vision was off.
Did you get anymore answers from anyone? I hope you are feeling better.
Yes, I did have this. I would cringe when I'd get my hair cut, because the combing felt like my scalp was being raked, and then when the person would blow dry - well the pulling and brushing while blow drying. Yikes. I acted like this person was torturing me, and well, they probably thought I was nuts! I no longer have this problem though. I did lose a lot of hair also, it seemed over a period of years. This seems to have leveled off.
hji sherrie! sory to insist, but get tested for lupus! are what you are saying is very related to lupus! my doctor just told me about it, beause i thought maybe was lupus what i had, and he mention all those symtoms you are talking about, similar to lyme.. please, get tested! there a several tests besides the ANA
I have similar problems. It is not directly associated with something actually touching the scalp with my fingers, brush or comb. It merely can be uncomfortable to have the wind blow my hair as the movement of my hair hurts. Often, this type of pain results in a painful burning/tingling on my scalp.
