| Re: Bird Flu
Hi Jules,
if I remember correctly, I think that the drugs trial thing was for leukaemia (if that is spelt right). What annoyed me about it was that it was a German company which had been refused permission to do the trial in Germany, but they were allowed to do it here!
Don't you sometimes think that it would be nice to live in a country that at least put the interests of its own citizens on a par with those of others?
I do see what you are getting at though. I used to work for the MoD and they were always trying to get staff to go away for a week for cold cure experiments. Now I ask you. What had the search for cold cures got to do with the MoD?
But what really gets my gander (no pun intended) about all this bird flu hype is that it is all "ifs", "buts" and "maybes", not to mention the "coulds" and "possiblies".
Then, on the other hand, here we all are - thousands of us wiith a very specific illness, with a known cause, and very specific symptoms that doctors continue to describe as non-specific and vague - and we are totally ignored. Are bird flu symptoms any more specific or less vague? If so, how do they know? Did the dead swan impart this knowledge in some way?
Perhaps poultry farmers have more energy and money to lobby parliament than lyme disease sufferers.
Oops, sorry. Seem to have gone off on one! Just letting off steam. Feel free to ignore.
