Bird Flu

I have wondered for a long time about this situation.

Everything new that appears as a threat is sometype of Flu.

Pheasents here have been dieing for years from Lyme.

Any chance this is a gretaer strain than the Lyme we already know.

As like any nasty thing left to its own devices, it grows in strength.

Nobody wants to admit Lyme so they certainly wouldnt admit if it was conected to Bird Flu.

just thought i would bring it up.

any comments thoughts would be interesting.

Re: Bird Flu

Dear Jules,

You may be onto something. My only thoughts on this bird flu stuff is that they definitely get more press than lyme. What the heck do we have to do to get people to recognize the seriousness and widespread infection? I guess maybe George or Tony need to develop some symptoms.

Re: Bird Flu

Hi all:

I don't think there is any connection to lyme and bird flu. Bird flu is a virus and you can actually google pictures of this virus on the internet. Flu viruses are always around and the experts say we will be faced with another flu pandemic that will kill millions of people, hopefully this will not be it.

Re: Bird Flu

In Uk recently some medical company tried a test of something on people and it went terribly wrong, teh symptoms where awfull it sent there immne system into a rapid nose dive.

Makes you wonder what the medicine was actually going to be fore.

i ask was it actually medicine that they injected them with or an actuall illness??

Shame with Bird FLu is teh ignorance that is around and teh attitude taht " it couldnt happen to you" from docs, means many people as with Lyme wont betreated in time.

If tehre is a Flu that is around and will kill many what virus has it originated form, surely its one of these super bugs and it has to start somewhere.

As per usuall i belive the Bird Flu was known about years ago, its action after the horse has bolted as per usuall.

Re: Bird Flu

Hi Jules,

if I remember correctly, I think that the drugs trial thing was for leukaemia (if that is spelt right). What annoyed me about it was that it was a German company which had been refused permission to do the trial in Germany, but they were allowed to do it here!

Don't you sometimes think that it would be nice to live in a country that at least put the interests of its own citizens on a par with those of others?

I do see what you are getting at though. I used to work for the MoD and they were always trying to get staff to go away for a week for cold cure experiments. Now I ask you. What had the search for cold cures got to do with the MoD?

But what really gets my gander (no pun intended) about all this bird flu hype is that it is all "ifs", "buts" and "maybes", not to mention the "coulds" and "possiblies".

Then, on the other hand, here we all are - thousands of us wiith a very specific illness, with a known cause, and very specific symptoms that doctors continue to describe as non-specific and vague - and we are totally ignored. Are bird flu symptoms any more specific or less vague? If so, how do they know? Did the dead swan impart this knowledge in some way?

Perhaps poultry farmers have more energy and money to lobby parliament than lyme disease sufferers.

Oops, sorry. Seem to have gone off on one! Just letting off steam. Feel free to ignore.

Janet
