Are these the right tests?
Hello,

I finally found a doctor who is willing to test me for Lyme but I am not sure if these are the most reliable tests out there. I was wondering if someone could let me know if these are the most accurate tests:

Immunology of Lyme Disease Panel
Lyme Antibodies (IgG/IgM)- unrelated peptide
Western Blot Assay (IgG/IgM)
Lyme TNF-A Antigen (A & B)- (Cytokines)
CD4 + Cell to Antigen A&B (T Helper Cells specific to Lyme)

I believe the doctor said he uses a lab called BioHealth Diagnositics.

Hi wailea366, welcome to the board!

No Lyme test is completely reliable, and results can vary by lab. It is important to be tested at a Lyme lab such as IgeneX in Palo Alto, CA. It uses more sensitive testing and shows more bands on the Western Blot. Besides Lyme, ticks can transmit several co-infections including Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis (HME & HGE), Bartonella, and Mycoplasma. Many people who have Lyme are co-infected, and it may affect treatment choice and progress. It is important to be tested for these by a Lyme reputable lab also.

It is very important to see a knowledgeable doctor. Many doctors do not understand Lyme and treat with outdated protocols. The closest Lyme doctor to IL that I know of is in Springfield, MO. Would you like his name?
