Lone Star Tick
I just read an article in Newsday 7/7 that a lone star tick can transmit lyme disease. It is a more agressive tick and actually can seek out a host from 30 feet away. Interesting article.

Thanks for the info. Sometimes I expect to hear that air transmits Lyme.

I'm joking about a serious issue, but it feels like every time I turn around, I learn more bad news about this insidious disease. I hate it!

There was a brief story on the news on Fri about the lone star tick and how it has been found on Long Island, NY recently. This is the 2nd time I have seen something about lyme on the news in the last few months.

Brief stories but maybe lyme will start getting the recognition as the major health problem it is. One can hope........
