Has anyone on here taken Doxepin or Neurontin? My Lyme Dr. prescribed these to help with pain and sleeping. I started these a few weeks back and have been experiencing more anxiety/depression then I have maybe ever. I also have started taking Malarone for Babesia with Omnicef for Lyme and am wondering if the anxiety/depression is a herx response. I'm gonna put a call in tomorrow to my Dr., but in the meantime, does anyone have experience with Doxepin or Neurontin?

Hi jennsen.

I don't have experience with either of those but I sure relate to pain and sleepless nights.

I take unisom, over-the-counter. It helps a tiny bit but I feel out of it the next morning. I just suffer through.

Who could have lyme and not be depressed? It is common and could be a herx symptom. Not familiar with your meds. Someone will come along shortly with meds info.

Insomnia is common in lyme and some of the other Co's. I take ambien CR. I've tried almost every other one and nothing helps. Ambien takes hours to get me to sleep and its not a sound sleep. But I need any I can get. I do not worry about being addicted to ambien. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
