Could I have lymes

I recall a tick bite a few years back, but no symptoms of any sort until about 10months ago. Now I suffer from constant dizziness and lightheadedness, a sore stiff neck, headaches, muscle and joint pain, and a large very annoying floater in my right eye, and I have unexplicably gained about 30lbs. I also have high blood pressure which I have never experienced in my life, which is now under control. I feel constant fatigue for no apparent reason and have a difficult time getting through a days work. This has caused me to feel very depressed. I have had extensive bloodwork done, but I don't believe I have had a test for lymes. I have had 2 chest xrays, CT scan of my head, stress test, echocardiogram, ultrasound of my kidneys and bladder. I have also seen an ENT specialist. All tests have come back negative. Does anyone else recognize these symptoms. The most difficult to deal with is the dizziness, lightheadedness and the huge eye floater.

That certainly sounds like Lyme symptoms to me.

When I was diagnosed I was told that the virus could lie dormant in your body for a while until triggered into activity by a virus or stress.

So I would definitely get tested ASAP, as the sooner you get treatment the better your chance of recovery.

I'm on a different time-zone from most of our friends here, but I'm sure that as soon as they WAKE UP they will leap in with lists of symptoms and relevant doctors and test centres for you in your part of the world. They are far wiser than I!

Welcome to the board. You will find some great advice here.

Wishing you better health

Janet

Hi,

I'm a newbie and still trying to determine whether my daughter has lyme disease. Based on what I've read from the postings here and researching on the web - it does sound very likely (even the floaters). As everyone has advised me, get tested soon for western blot through Igenex Labs. Others I'm sure will have good advice.

Best of luck and I wish you well.

Hi Frustrated59 and welcome.

Sure sounds like Lyme to me, but I'm not a doctor. :)

I have the fatigue and that dizzy/lightheaded/drunk feeling. I also can barely make it through the day.

The best thing you can do is get your blood tested for Lyme and its co-infections. A good lab is Igenex in Palo Alto California.

I had many many tests and scans and more tests that all came back negative and no one could explain my symptoms.

I even had my blood tested for Lyme and a local lab - that came back negative. I have since learned that most labs don't use high quality testing materials. If I had sent my blood to Igenex right off the bat, I'd be better off.

You can go the Igenex web site and order the test kit. Maybe you can take it to your doctor and they can draw your blood and send it in. Its not the cheapest test in the world - but I was so sick and so desperate to find out what was wrong with me -- I didn't care.

Hang in there! There is hope.

Peace and health to you.
