I have a rash question. In the past 2 days My rash has turned from light red to a dark purply black color. Has anyone else had this happen? I have had a little improvement on the doxycycline 200mg twice a day. No more fever or headache which to me is a huge relief. I still have the muscle and joint pain, left knee swelling and fatigue. I now have the change in my rash and have left eye floaters that appeared about a week ago.
Hi Granny....I don't have a rash...I get them in my hair line....they come and go....I just wanted to say....you are on such a very very low dose of antibiotic...Can you get anyone to bump it up???
have you been tested for co-infections? Take pictures of that rash as it changes and keep a journal too. Is the rash a circle or is it stripes? There are some good pictures of lyme rashes and co-infection rashes on the internet, try to find some and maybe that will help you figure out what's going on.
I have two big Lyme rashes that appear dark/red/purple-ish. They didn't really change color to darker - they just fade away then come back when I am Herx'ing.
I have had Bartonella rashes that were dark purple, but they also just faded away and didn't really change color to darker.
I agree with sleeper and try to take a photo of the rash. I have pictures of all my strange creepy crawlies - LOL!
Maybe if its changing color - that means bacteria are dying - and that's awesome.
Everyone reacts differently to the antibiotics. I'm on Doxy also, but I take 600mg per day.
hi lyme granny! the treatment for lyme is long, it depense when you catch it, within 4 weks, the dosis of doxy is a month or 6 weeks, if you have it longer that that, it can be months, years...so is normal to have all those pais, after a year, i still have them, have improve, but still have them...i had the rash, it laste the first one, like 2 weeks, thet i got as soon it was fadding, a new one, and then a new one... i had like 5, so i had them in total like 2 months, and after that got many small ones in different shapes and colors that were driving me crazy!!! the whole situacion lasted like 6 or 7 months and got better after a while of doxy... so hang out there
hugs
