lymes symptoms

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anybody who has been diognosed with lymes disease has had double vison or at night if your vision get's alot worse. I'v had lymes symptoms for 3 years now and my visoin and dizziness is getting so bad that I can hardley read the newspaper or even drive a car. I was told by a doctor 3 years ago that she was 80% sure that I had MS and that I should get to a neuro and get all the test done. So after all kinds of test and consultation with about 15 other specialist they still haven't giving me a diognoses. I myself am sure that it's lymes but it just isn't showing up on lab test so I'm getting very frustrated. Is it possiable after having it for so long that it's harder to find? I ahve a constant eye spasm in my left eye, constant dizziness, feel like I'm going to fall over, if I get on a ladder or something thats higher than the ground i feel like i'm going to fall off. I have had severe sore neck, back, knees, fingers. I get these chills that are so bad I can't even describe them. It's like my body is trying to fight an infection but it can't .When I get these chills my wife has to go and put blankets in a dryer to heat them up so I can try to get warm again, but when i get warm then I sweat really bad but you can't take them off because then I freeze and almost go into convulsions it's really scary. Dose any of this sound like lymes or do I have undignosed MS. Oh did I mention severe short term memory loss. I posted in my other thread that my doctor did send my blood to Igenix and the test came back negative for lymes. They did the whole blood test. Well I didn't mean to boar everybody with my problems but I really need to get to the bottom of this before I go insane.

Re: lymes symptoms

Hey JO JO ,
First of all thanks for replying to my post you have gave me alot of strength to keep fighting for treatment. I have had these symptoms for 3 years but I still am able to walk and work, It sounds like most people who have had it that long useally have way worse complications, at least thats what the doctors keep telling me.

How long did you have lymes for before they started to treat you?

Re: lymes symptoms

Hi kyle1 and welcome. I am so tired right now, I hope my words make sense!

Sorry to hear how sick you are.

I have severe balance problems and lightheadedness and dizziness. Driving is tough for me too.

Last summer I fell off my front porch for no reason - LOL - its only one step high but - PLOP - I fell right off. I was Ok, but very startled that I could just fall over without aqny warning.

I can sum up my symptoms by saying that I feel like a drunken amnesiac with the flu.

My short term memory was really bad too.

I run fevers all the time. Last year I think I ran a fever every day - about 99.5 to 100 degrees Farenheit I guess.

Lyme is awful to live with, isn't it?

You can have Lyme and test negative. I have Bartonella and tested negative twice.

Hang in there. Lyme doctors will treat without a positive blood test. Do you have an LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor)? Were you tested for the co-unfections as well as Lyme?

I have been under treatment for a year and a half. I tried many different antibiotics before I found one that worked. I definitely feel better than I did last year. My mind is more clear and my memory is better.

I have such fatigue. Can hardly hold my eyes open somedays.

There is reason for hope. Lyme is not a death sentence - you will feel better someday.

Peace and health to you.

Re: lymes symptoms

Hi Kyle just back tracking through some of your old Threads....

Yes I had gotten tested through Igenex Lab also. Both times my test came back negative. It took about 8 years to get a clinical diagnoises by a wonderful doctor. He listened to me and I told him when I had gotten bit. But NONE of my test came back positive. After I was pulled off of a picc line after 4 years of antibiotics my test from a little hospital lab showed a SLIGHT POSITIVE.....

From reading up on Doctor Buscanno...might be spelled wrong...he said it can get to a point where it does not show up in the blood.. That a tissue biopsy might be better. I have never had this done. But I guess since these little bacterias are corkscrewed they can burrow in the bone out of sight....smart little critters aren't they...geessshhh...

Anyways Kyle I believe you are on the right track with the diagnoises of Lyme. By now IF you have Lyme you have it chronically ...I would get to a LYME LITERATE MEDICAL DOCTOR...as soon as you can....post where you live so you might find a doctor around you!!!

Good Luck!!!
