I am a Lyme disease patient from Calif. I have suffered with this
awful disease for 6 years, the last 2 I have been trying to get my SSD.
Is there hope. I do have a attny, and an upcoming court date.
i married my bf last year because i needed the health insurance and then ss told me that he makes too much money for me to qualify.. i dont know what to do now.. we definitely need the money and i cant work. maybe i need a lawyer too. tell me how it goes for you ... and are you married?
Social Security Disability is VERY hard to get, but DON'T get discouraged. It took me over 2 yrs & I had a little help from my current disability insurance company. Then, I retained a lawyer after the second denial. She specialized in Lyme cases, so I think that's what really helped. Good Luck!
Start keeping a journal of each day, what you do and how you feel. And fight, it took an attorney and going before a judge for me to get disability due to Fibromyalgia and about 2 yrs of fighting the system. That was in 1993.

is is it very hard to social security get but we desereve it. i made sure to document everything my docs did, test results, treatments, sypmtom journals, and anything else i could get my hands on, including mental and cognitvie exams. keep a file all the time of everything anyone sends you, concerns you, or is about your doctor. when it all adds up it anc really build your case. it took them over a year and a half for them to decide on my case, but finally i was approved the first round. i was very lucky. i am still ill and still reicieving it. i don'ty know what i'd do without it.
so please keep fighting and i am glad to hear you have a lawyre. sometimes that's the only way to get what you need from them. good luck and keep us posted.
