new diagnosis

hi everybody... i had just been diagnose this morning with lupus, i had last week at ana positive test, and saw the best reumatologist ehre, and he said my ind test was never lyme...both diseases can be confusing, and showed him pictures of my rash and said defenitely is the one you get when lupus is attacking you.... so he diagnose , in spanish, dont know the name in english, eritema , lupus eritema s and sindrome antifosfolipido...actually my great general doctor who travell to the llmd with me to new york, agree with that, so i guess tomorrow i will be starting with inmuno suppresor, with antimalarian and aspirin, at least he didit give me corticoides, he said no need now, which is relieving..i have see peolple having lyme and lupus...so peolple with lyme and lupus still take antisuppresors?i guess my history of pleuritis is more likely to lupus than lyme... anybody who have try those medicines, please, some comments, i am a little scare...big hug to all of you

Re: new diagnosis

Hi brid, I'm sorry I don't know much about lupus or those drugs they are going to put you on. I hope you get better after taking them though. So they are saying you never had lyme after all? You have been through so much, brid, I hope this is the beginning of getting some relief.

I will be thinking of you and saying a prayer for you too. Don't be scared, everything is the same as it was yesterday only now you have more information. So you are moving forward. Hang in there, it will get better!

Re: new diagnosis

Aw sweetie - it does sound scary. I'd be afraid too if I heard all that.

Sleeper is right - tomorrow you are the same person, except now you more information that may improve your health.

Who knows? Maybe the test was accurate and you do indeed have Lupus and the medicine will work for you? I pray that is the case. I have heard that Lupus and Lyme can have similar symptoms.

You are in good hands. I will pray that peace and health come your way!

Hang in there and try not to worry.
