tooth pain....

Ok, the throbing tooth pain has come back (root canal tooth). I don't know what to do with this tooth?!! Did any of you have problems with a tooth that had a root canal? Should I have it extracted? Would that take the pain away?

Any thoughts?

J

Re: tooth pain....

I would bet it's the lyme. I think lyme effects your teeth as well. Have you tried asprin and oral gels? I would do every thing possible to keep the tooth going and see how your treatment effects it. I've had really bad tooth pain and then a week later is just disappears. Try not to have it pulled yet. I've had to pop 3 tylanol and us a bunch of that tooth ache gel. It helps a bit. mc

Re: tooth pain....

Hi J. Before I was diagnosed and for some time after starting treatment, tooth pain was one of my worst symptoms. I have never had sensitive teeth so this really baffled me. I saw a few different dentists who found no problems.

In my case, it got better with treatment. I think it may have been nerve pain.

Let your doctor know what you are experiencing.

Re: tooth pain....

Thanks ladies, I don't understand it. I have no root there so what is this pulsating in my tooth?!! I had to call the dentist to call in a pain killer, motrin was just not cutting it! Mc, i'm sure it's the lyme. These freakin buggers get into everything, huh?!!

Later,
J

Re: tooth pain....

I've been taking Indocin for months now. It's stronger than Naproxen and is non habit forming. It has really helped with my pain issues. Only problem is that it's really harsh on the stomach...so you have to eat lots of food when you take it.

You might see if your dr will prescribe it.

Re: tooth pain....

Dentist put me on some over the counter pain meds... I really don't like taking it because it feels to strong, makes me feel a little tipsy.....but it's better than the pain I guess.
