Quest/Westren Blot

Found out today that my
Westren Blot came back NON REACTIVE or
NEG today. Quest did the testing and I am
sure they only tested bands the CDC requires.
Is anyone tested positive thru Quest testing?

Not ruling it out just yet. STILL WAITING
for my IGENEX test kit. They test all 99 bands
which even if it comes out NEG would ease my
mind completely in regards to Lyme's Disease.

So, IMO it's money well spent.

Is IGENEX usually slow in getting test kits to
those who ask? I live in FL but geesh.
Aug 1st is when they said they sent the first
kit out. And now the resent another.

Hi Jennifer. I wouldn't think it should take this long for you to get the kit. When did they send out the second one?

I sent the email to them on the 24th.
And they got back to me the next day said
they would be sending another one out
ASAP.

So, If I do not get any test kit
by Friday I will call them again.

I was tested with Quest 3x in the past 3 years...they all came back negative. Quest is known for not having quality testing materials. My Igenex came back borderline positive. That was good enough for my dr to begin treatment.

Hang in there. I wouldn't give the Quest results too much thought.

TYSM for that encouragement!!!
It was exactly what my gut was telling me.

I will keep you all posted when I get my
IGENEX test kit.

Re: Quest/Westren Blot

It usually doesn't take IGeneX that long to get you the kits. Do they maybe have something wrong on the address? I live in Texas and it usually takes 4-5 days to get them.
As for Quest, I wouldn't put much faith in them either, my son has Lyme and he has come up neg 4 times by Quest. I don't trust any lab except IGeneX. If my son's doctor (primary) had used IGeneX instead of Quest, when he first suspected Lyme it would have saved my son a whole year of damage. Definately get the IGeneX testing done. Sarah

Re: Quest/Westren Blot

Good to hear!! It will take about 3 weeks to get the results back, but it is worth the wait by using them and not wasting time with these other junk labs!! Sarah
