Got kit from Igenex - confused - Lyme Disease Message Board

Hi:

Received my kit today. WOW there is a lot on the form. Which tests do I ask for??? Basic Lyme Panel, Complete Lyme panels, Initial Lyme panels?? Plus do I have to do the extra for the co-infections????

I would rather ask you guys then my doctor.

Good news tho. My moms friends husband has had lyme for many years and she is getting the name of the doctor for me...

Sorry~ been waiting since Aug 1st for my kit.
Maybe its a FL thing and I have called IGENEX
and emailed them both.

They are resending my kit. -i hope

Hi Julie. At the minimum I would recommend getting the Western Blot done. Does it list which tests are in each panel?

As someone who has had four co-infections, I believe it is very important to be tested for them. I know it is expensive, but if you have co-infections it can affect treatment choice and progress.

I ordered it Sunday (Last week) via the internet.

Basic Lyme Panel - Western Blot IgG, western Blot Igm, LYme IFA $245

Complete Lyme Panel - WB Igm, WB igm, Lyme IFA, Lyme PCR-Serum/Whole Blood $450

Initial lyme Panels - WB IGg, WB IgM - $390

INitital Regional Co-Infections Panels$630
Complete co-infections panel
B.duncani (WA-1) IgG & IgM, Babesia FISH, HGE IgG & IgM, HME igG & Igm, Bartonella G&M

Then they have western regional complete co-infections panel $630

So I'm not sure....Doese the complete lyme panel $450 include the co-infections to you???

Hi Julie. No, I do not think the Lyme panel includes any co-infection tests. They are separate tests.

I am confused why the basic Lyme panel includes the IFA and Western Blot for $245 and the initial panel is only the Western Blot and it is $390.
