Herx Questions

Hello everyone, I'm entering the fourth week of IV Rocephin. This past week has been terrible for me. I guess it's the Herx that I'm feeling. It has made me feel ten times worse. Dizziness, shortness of breath, ringing ears, trouble walking, trouble with my balance.

Questions that I have: I've noticed that I really get strong herxing within 3 hours of infusion. Then 15 hours later I still feel bad, however not as strong as right after I infuse. Has anybody else expierenced this?

How long does Herxing last? Does it gradually get better. I have been sick almost two years. So should I expect another two years before I get better? I hate this. I feel that I am in hell right now.

Re: Herx Questions

Hi Stan. I am sorry you are feeling so bad. Usually the longer someone has been sick, the longer they will need to be treated.

I think it makes sense that you would feel worse after infusing compared to hours later. You could ask your doctor about this.

Over time, the herxes should get less severe and not last as long. I know it is hard going through this, but it is good the Rocephin is working.

Hang in there okay?
