Well, I decided that I am not waiting around for my primary care to believe me, and I am not going to search forever where I live to find someone to treat me when Dr. Cameron is only about 3 hours away...I called and got an appointment for Monday
Hi selfdiagnosed. I have heard some not so good things about him, such as he does not treat aggressively enough. There are some excellent Lyme doctors in NY.
OK - here's my update. I didn't end up going to see him...I found a doctor here who is ordering me the PIC line and both IV and oral antibiotics. I am getting the PIC tomorrow at 11:30!!!!!! Can't wait
Hi selfdiagnosed. Is this a Lyme doctor? Were you tested for all the co-infections? This is important. Many Lyme doctors believe the co-infections need to be treated first for Lyme treatment to be effective. This was true in my case.
Hello checking in...
Today is day 3 on the rocephin IV - I had a midline put in and will be getting the IV meds for a minimum of 28 days. I had already started taking the amoxicillin oral about 14days before this treatment started. Then I was switched to doxy because the probenecid that I was taking with the amox. was something that you aren't supposed to take with the rocephin. **ETA** up here, they treat with the oral meds at the same time as the IV meds.
I don't know much about the co-infections yet. I was tested for a few and they were negative though - so that's a good start. The doc treating me is the one from the urgent care ctr that caught the lyme, I don't see the Lyme doctor for another week - but I wanted to start this therapy ASAP!!

Can I ask where in Upstate NY you are (a general location is OK) I am in the Albany/Capital District area , are there any LLMD's that you know of around that area?
lj- you can check out dr Horowitz in Hyde Park, an hour south of Albany. I hear really good things about him if you are loking for someone thorough, agressive and has an open mind to alternative therapies. Good luck!
