This might sound like a dumb question, but when you're taking 2 different abx, is it generally assumed you're taking them at the same time? I was just prescribed Biaxin with Omnicef. I'm new to Omnicef.. (I have already read that I can't take iron, multivitamins, or antacids w/in 2 hours before or after taking that). But I just wanted to make sure that I can take the 2 abx at the same time?
There are many different med combos that can treat Lyme. Both of these meds are prescribed for it, so it seems like it would also be good to prescribe them together.
It is very important to make sure you take them the way the doctor wants you to. Call your doctor's office to find out. I once had to take two pills of one antibiotic. I assumed it was once in the morning and once at night, but I later found out my doctor wanted me to take them both at the same time.
With most antibiotics, you do need to wait at least two hours before taking vitamins etc.
I have to take my doxy with food, the rifampin on weeknights on an empty stomach, probiotics twice a day seperate, and zithromax on the weekends in the am. it is very hard to space everything.
