Hi njgirl, welcome to the board!

Do you have Lyme? If so, how long have you been sick?

When Lyme disease is a possibility, it is very important to see a kowledgeable doctor. Many doctors do not understand Lyme and treat with outdated protocols. No test is completely reliable, and results can vary by lab.

Besides Lyme, ticks can also transmit several co-infections including Babesiosis, two types of Ehrlichiosis (HME & HGE), Bartonella, and Mycoplasma. It is estimated that 60% of people who have Lyme are co-infected. It may affect treatment choice and progress. It is important to be

Both of these doctors come highly recommended. There are other doctors in NY who also come highly recommended.

It is also important to learn as much as possible. I recommend reading Dr. Joseph Burrascano's 2005 Diagnostic Hints and Treatment Guidelines For Lyme and Other Tick Borne Illnesses. He is one of the top Lyme doctors in the country, and many Lyme doctors follow his protocols. I also recommend the book "Everything You Need To Know about Lyme Disease
(2nd edition)" by Karen Vanderhoof-Forschner.

Thanks ticker. I have been sick a long time but treated for 2 years. I do have that book you recommended.

I am hoping anyone who sees these Drs will post about their experience with them.

hi njgirl,
Dr. Fein was on mystery dx, that television show. She seemed really knowledable. The guy on the show says she saved his life and is doing much better. He was the same a many of us here. Doctors could not find any thing wrong with him. I heard she has a long waiting list. I don't really know though. Good luck, mc

thanks mctassi

I saw that episode too! I actually have an appt with Dr Fein late Oct. It took 4 months to get the appt. I called to see if any cancellations and they are now booking in Feb!! FYI for anyone wanting to see her.

I have heard some good things about Dr L and his wait is not as long. I know he is highly recommended but I have only talked to one patient of his so far.
