Ordering kit for hubby......????

Hi. I want to order a kit for my hubby(he has many symptoms for many years) and I was wondering which one to order. Western blot IgG and IgM, right? He wants his own pc to draw the blood and then go from there. So how does this actually work? Does he just go into his doctors office and ask him to draw his blood? Who sends the kit back to IgeneX?
Anybody do this before?

Thanks,
J

Yep, Western Blot IgM and IgG is a good place to start. The physician's lab will draw the blood and will mail it to Igenex. Your Igenex pack should come w/ a Fedex shipping bag. Also, Igenex says you can't ship on Thurs or Friday b/c the blood will end up sitting around over the weekend. Best to get the blood drawn on a Monday or Tuesday and make SURE the lab mails it out immediately.

Keylyme, You know, my LLMD drew my blood on a thursday. And I think IgeneX got it maybe 5 days later. Will the results be affected if it 'sits' that long? What info do you have on this?

Thanks,
J

Re: Ordering kit for hubby......????

When my LLMD wrote the order for the Igenex he said that Igenex specifies that all specimens must be shipped Monday through Wednesday. I'm not sure what happens if a specimen is left at their office over the weekend. You might try calling them and see what they say. If I remember correct, you got a positive right?

Re: Ordering kit for hubby......????

OK called IgeneX and the guy (not Dr. Harris) said that blood is ok at room temperture for 7days and if was refridgerated it is fine. He said that if the blood was not good then they would not even test it; they would ask the doctor to draw the blood over again. So I guess it's fine.

Cool! Sounds like the Monday-Wednesday shipping time is just a precautionary.
