Hi 3love, Not sure if it's co-infection or not. What I have for #66 band is "Outer membrane-spanning Oms 66 Hsp outer/integral membrane protein". I couldn't make heads or tails of it. My LLMD says that all bands on the Western Blot are all related to the Borrelia Burgdorferi Infection.
I had the same question you asked. You might call Dr. Harris at IgeneX to answer this.
I was very curious about this thread since I have always been positive at band 66, so I called Igenex and spoke to Dr. H. Yes, band 66 has been associated with Erlichiosis but it is also a non-specific Lyme band. I have also seen band 45 associated with Erlichiosis.
When they say non-specific Lyme band I think they mean that they know it has something to do with Bb, but they are not quite sure if it is an outer surface protein or what have you.
The bands that are specific just to Bb are 23-25, 31, 34, 39, 93. If you test positive (even weakly to any one of those, then you have been exposed to Bb and your body is recognizing it) Many LLMD's feel that a positive or even indeterminate at even one of these 5 bands is diagnostic.
Hi Smyle, Wow, I am surprised to hear that because I called yesterday and they told me that he will not be in until Monday.....and yet he called you back today? That was very nice of him to do that!
I spoke with him last week and he was very nice and I did not feel rushed.
