Wedding Day...:)

Hi everyone:

Today is the day. I get married.

I feel ok, not the best (neck pain and mild burning) but I will make it, lyme will not ruin my wedding, lyme will not take over my life, lyme will not win, I WILL WIN this battle.

Good news I did see an allergist yesterday, felt good when I left. She will work with they lyme doctor and thyroid doctor on what pills I can take. Whatever they decide to give me she will inject in a very small amount and see how I react. She did say I can never take Zitromax, Cipro or sulfa drugs again, Cipro she said next time can kill me (Had a very bad reaction 10 years ago and almost died from one pill, spent 10 days in the hospital due to the reaction).

She has me on one pill doxycicline 50mgs to see how my body will react. It does give me a headack and in the morning I wake up a little dizzy, but no hives. They will keep upping it (they wanted to wait until after the wedding). I see the specialist for the lyme on the 26th and the thyroid doctor on the 1st due to the Toxic goiters. She did say the goiters are not due to lyme as I just (if I have it) lyme in July of this year. Was bitten and removed the same day. I"m very luck we saw and got the tick out. OH was bitten 7-22-07. She said as I just got bitten I should be ok within a 6 month period. She like all of you said at least 4 months on pills or ivs. Where my jerk family doctor said 10 days.

Ok, time to get married.....

Julie

Hi Julie! You are right, Lyme will not win. You will win! You will likely feel some effects of the Doxy on the bacteria even though it is a low dose.

I know your wedding will be beautiful! Enjoy this very special day!

Give us the details when you are back on-line okay?

Re: Wedding Day...:)

Hi Eveyrone:

Well we did it... The day was outstanding (ok a little cold 68), but all in all the day and night was great.

I felt 90%, a little neck pain but no burning no flu feeling nothing. Around 10:30 last night I got very tired and dizzy, but it was all over with and I went to bed. Got up at 4:40am this morning and feeling ok.

We are off to Lake Geneva for three days and then home to hit all the doctors hard.

Yes the Doxy makes me feel strange (even on the low dose) very dizzy in the morning, but they are trying hard to find me a pill that will work for this.

My heart is racing up a storm today, but that could be my thyroid (its in bad shape).

LYME did not ruin my wedding, and all my prayers to god were answered yesterday, I married a WONDERFUL man...

Julie
p.s. Wish I could send a photo

Re: Wedding Day...:)

Hi Julie. I am so glad your day went well and you felt well!

Rembmer the tips about Doxy. Do not go out in the sun at all when taking it. You can get a severe, and I mean severe, burn in minutes even when you wear sunblock. Do not have any diary, magnesium, or iron products within two hours of taking it or it will not be aborsbed properly. It it makes you nauseous, eat something substantial and non-dairy before you take it. Do not lay down for at least an hour after taking it or you can ulcerate your esophagus. This is very painful. Drink a full glass of water when you take it for the same reason.

Have a great honeymoon!

Re: Wedding Day...:)

Hi:

Just got back from Lake Geneva Wis. Had a great three days with Jim. Very relaxing. Drank a little to much but we had a blast.

Feeling 100% like my old self, burning is gone, very little neck pain...Is this normal???

I see my specialist on the 26th and will have the test done again by that lab in CA.

I wish I could send a photo...

Julie
